Simple video tutorial showing how to set up the Canon 7D for pictures and video.
Of course, you may want to come up with your own settings but this is a good place to start.

I was looking into buying the 7D. Is the quality of the video visibly worse then the 5D Mrk II. I heard there are issues related to noise over 200 ISO. I appreciate your advice
Yaroslav,
Yes, technically the 7D produces video that is worse than than the 5D Mark II as the 5D handles low light a bit better. Both cameras fall apart shooting standard resolution charts, brick walls, and certain types of fabrics when compared to a good video camcorder.
But here’s my bottom line perspective.
The 7D offers an image very close to the 5D for a lot less money. Take the difference in cost and put it into lenses, camera support, lights, sound capture, or post-production tools and I think you’ll be happy with the results.
