How To Set Up Your Canon 7D

Simple video tutorial showing how to set up the Canon 7D for pictures and video.

Of course, you may want to come up with your own settings but this is a good place to start.

If this looks interesting, I suggest clicking through this link to the Vimeo page. He has a couple of other links and bits of info that may be useful.

I was looking into buying the 7D. Is the quality of the video visibly worse then the 5D Mrk II. I heard there are issues related to noise over 200 ISO. I appreciate your advice :)

Yaroslav,
Yes, technically the 7D produces video that is worse than than the 5D Mark II as the 5D handles low light a bit better. Both cameras fall apart shooting standard resolution charts, brick walls, and certain types of fabrics when compared to a good video camcorder.

But here’s my bottom line perspective.

The 7D offers an image very close to the 5D for a lot less money. Take the difference in cost and put it into lenses, camera support, lights, sound capture, or post-production tools and I think you’ll be happy with the results.
